Sr. Manager, Internal Communications Company: Wal-Mart
General Summary:
Sr. Manager, Internal Communications will serve as the leading â??employee brand ambassadorâ? at Walmart.com, and will be responsible for building the internal communications function by developing high-impact strategies and vehicles to promote employee engagement and the overall integrity of the Walmart culture. This position will also be responsible for disseminating corporate announcements via the intranet, and creating company videos, newsletters, and various other communication channels including our company All Hands meetings. Also, he/she will provide internal communications counsel to and partner with members of the senior leadership team to facilitate organizational effectiveness, and also work in a cross-functional capacity among a variety of teams, including HR and the Bentonville home office associate communications team.
Responsibilities:
Strategy Development & Counsel (50%)
â?¢ Successfully develop, implement and manage comprehensive internal communications plans and programs to engage and motivate employees toward high performance, and help employees understand their role in supporting the companyâ??s brand and culture.
â?¢ Partner with executives and team leaders to define organizational best practices, plan/execute complex internal communications processes that support key business goals, and ensure company message consistency and alignment across the organization.
â?¢ Develop internal communications strategies to increase understanding and engagement of Walmart.com among U.S. store employees.
â?¢ Establish key relationships with home office employee communications team, and structure alignment and partnership on shared goals and communications programs.
â?¢ Pursue and understand trends in the internal communications practice and social media environment, and provide ongoing recommendations to the organization.
â?¢ Develop and implement new social media opportunities as it relates to employee engagement and communication.
â?¢ Provide internal communications counsel to executives and team leaders, such as talking points, briefings, etc.
â?¢ Work closely with senior leaders in developing internal communications messaging for all organizational announcements and any crisis needs, often under tight deadlines.
â?¢ Partner closely with HR to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with HR/employee programs.
â?¢ Manage intranet strategy, and serve as key lead on intranet re-development project.
Production & Execution (50%)
â?¢ Lead, develop and implement all aspects of company-wide meetings and events. Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, appropriate executives and team members to develop key messages, set agenda, and work with suppliers/third parties to facilitate all meeting needs.
â?¢ Manage, develop and execute company-related announcements that reflect business objectives and company values.
â?¢ Develop, manage and execute all content development and production of company newsletter (from beginning to end), and partner with various departments on idea generation and implementation.
â?¢ Lead and facilitate the development and coordination of company videos.
â?¢ Serve as key lead for intranet content and visual impact, and partner cross-functionally with internal partners on ongoing basis.
â?¢ Develop and manage editorial calendars and production schedules for all internal communications vehicles (i.e., company meetings, events, announcements, videos, newsletters, etc.).

Experience
ï?- Minimum 7 years in internal/employee communications
ï?- Experience in a large, complex organization with ecommerce or retail experience preferred

â?¢ Ability to provide high-level counsel to business leaders around the world
â?¢ Experience managing projects with cross-functional teams required.
â?¢ Proven experience in development and management of intranet strategy

Preferred Educational Level
â?¢ Bachelorâ??s degree
