Panasonics Home Environment Team is looking to hire a recently graduated college student (within the past 2 years) or newly discharged military Veteran (within the past 4 years) to fill the position of Planning Analyst. This assignment will begin with a 6-month concurrent rotation of assignments in key areas of the business.

Basic Function:

The Planning Analyst will report to the Business Operations Manager and will provide analytical support to procurement functions. Key responsibilities will include analyzing demand forecasts, tracking of actual performance against budgeted targets, product allocations, stock updates and order process/tracking with the SCM group. The analyst will be a key contributor to the PSI preparation process. In addition the analyst will interface with overseas partners, manage third partner vendors, provide project tracking and support new product introductions. Outstanding analytical and communication skills are critical for success.

Accountabilities:

1. Forecasting

a) Monitor and adjust accordingly the regional sku-level demand plan using analytical and statistical tools, intelligence gathering and collaboration

b) Interact with Sales, Product Management, and Marketing to understand demand forecast drivers

c) Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results

d) Use and maintain the demand planning system (SAP/APO) as the primary forecasting system tool

1. PSI

a) Assist with the monthly collaborative planning cycle outlined by the S&OP process to achieve a consensus purchase

and demand plan by working with sales & marketing

b) Prepare PSI forms for monthly review meeting

1. Inventory

a) Responsible for inventory updates

b) Recommend warehouse allocations

c) Follow thru with SCM Group on allocations decided by Planning and Sales

d) Develop and track project plans to drive inventory and obsolescence reductions

1. Daily Business Operations

a) Develop working relationship with overseas partners (secondary point of contact)

b) Support day to day operations by monitoring key performance indicators and provide status updates at review meetings

c) Manage third party vendor procurement

1. Market Information

a) Acquire, understand, and incorporate customer and industry data, insight and replenishment triggers in the development of the regional sku-level demand plan

b) Supports research, creation and assimilation of data

Qualifications

MANAGEMENT :

• Supports $50M business * Interface with Supply Chain, Operations, IT, & Sales in a professional manner

PROBLEM-SOLVING :

• Methodical Planner who is able to see and preempt potential problems to support a multi-million dollar demand and supply process within tight inventory constraints * Demonstrated ability to investigate problems, finds root causes, and develops solutions * Ability to multitask and eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities

KNOW HOW :

• Bachelors Degree plus 2 years of relevant work experience * Previous training and/or interaction with finance and sales functions preferred * Proficiency preferred in SAP, SAP Workflow, BI Reporting and many of the business processes underlying their use within a large sales organization * Ability to learn and implement new IT productivity tools * Excellent skills with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

COMMUNICATIONS :

• Able to prepare persuasive presentations and/or training tools for use by other members of the department * Write clear and logical documents in standard American English at levels appropriate for multiple different audiences and stakeholders. * Clear verbal skills
