Mgr GCS Aircraft Installation

System production facilities are in Osaka, Japan.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing multiple third-party installation teams in support of Global Communications Services (GCS) retrofit activities, in order to deliver GCS department results within time and budget goals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Travels as required to oversee installations at MROs (Maintenance Repair Office) as well as remote teams at customer facilities. Serves as PAC point of contact in resolving workflow, supplier performance and customer issues at the aircraft as required.
Conducts quality audits with Procurement and QC support, for MRO supplier confidence on behalf of Panasonic. Ensure consistent application of PAC standards between the MROs and installation teams.
Manages Panasonic budget items with the third-party MRO.
Assists with development of standardized work packages to facilitate expedited installations for multiple customers and aircraft models.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to present to executive decision makers.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Familiar with FAA/EASA part 145 work environment as well as FAA/EASA part 121 service issues.
Familiar with aircraft maintenance documentation (AMM, WDM, IPC, SRM, FIM, logbook).
Possess highly developed team building skills.
Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).
Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
College degree in an aviation or maintenance-related field desired.
5 years supervisor experience within the aviation maintenance field is desired.
10 years direct experience within the airline technical operations or MRO environment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel up to 65% of the time to domestic and international locations. Aircraft first-of-type installations and/or new customers may require higher percentage travel at project inception.
