Position Description :
Position directly responsible for the real-time defense of the enterprise from cyber attacks and other threats. Position is involved in developing new security controls and strategies, management of security projects, and the investigation of complicated security issues. Reviews and correlates event logs from multiple data sources, creates logic to detect risk-based events, and rapidly respond to raised alerts when potential threats are identified. Monitors security profiles, reviews security violation reports, and investigates possible security exceptions. Updates, and maintains and documents security controls. Enforces security policies and procedures by deploying appropriate counter measures when to risk based alerts are raised. Position shift is 7-day fortnight shift (i.e. 3 days on, 4 off, 4 days on, 3 off, each two weeks, 12 hr shift from 6 to 6), and is on the Security Operation Center team.

Minimum Qualifications :
Technical Skills - - Watches security events and alerts in real time, performs correlation and research to identify bad actors and other cyber threats. Manages security for more than one IT functional area (e.g., networking, database, multiple operating systems, and/or Web) Assists in the development and implementation security auditing procedures, security breach escalation procedures, and use of security solutions and appliances. Command line proficiency, batch and scripting included. Responds to active cyber threats and bad actors in an manner appropriate to the situation, including constant communication and proactive escalation. Identify and eliminate viruses, malware, and any other potentially unwanted software. Test security controls and procedures in order to identify areas of improvement. Soft Skills - - Complex problem solving focused on identifying the root causes of issues through facts and evidence. Supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs. Teaching technologies through informal and formal mentorship both inside and outside the team by providing technical guidance through multiple mediums (e.g. town halls, classrooms, collaboration sites) Quickly and seamlessly adapts to competing priorities, demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Researches security, legal, privacy, risk, and threat intelligence feeds for information which can be used to increase Walmarts security posture and communicates that information to key groups throughout the enterprise. Creates standard operating procedures on how to handle new and evolving cyber threats, communicates the new/updated process to the team, and trains individuals as necessary. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports Company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
